Answer:
Yes, most older
hardwood floors really bring a special character back
into an older home. Floor sanding does require some
effort, but the results are worth it. First thing to do
is remove all old carpet and begin to prepare your floor
by removing old nails and tacks that may have been used
with the carpet. Take up old shoe mold if you desire;
but, consider that
some shoe mold may be very old and may be hard to match if
you damage a piece or two. Of course you could simply
replace the shoe mold. Call Rent Right about making a
reservation for the floor sander. We have two
different types of floor sanders for rent. One type is
called a drum sander which you will need if your floor
requires cutting down. Cutting down means removing high
spots in your floor. High spots can be caused by water
damage; simply a nail working loose over the years; or,
a
board or two may buck up some and need sanding back down
to be uniform with the other wood. The second type
of sander is extremely user friendly and we call this
sander a Square Buff sander. The square buff is very
easy to use and requires little effort on the part of
the user. The square buff gets into corners easily
and creates very little dust. Rent Right keeps 5
different grits of sandpaper in stock for the sanders and other
supplies that you may need for your floor sanding
project. The cost for renting sanding equipment and the
purchase of sandpaper is very reasonable. Rent Right
will provide a credit for any unused sand paper that is
returned. Call today about
1\2 day rates, full day rates, and weekly rates. To help
you refinish old hardware floors, Rent Right has a video available
that shows how to finish your hardwood
floors. |
